When I was looking for a new successor to my Yamaha CX-A5200, I came across Arcam and the AV41. Three criteria were important to me:
1) 16 channel preamp with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D
2) Current HDMI board with HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3
3) Premium measuring system which is given here with DIRAC. The software extension with bass control costs a little extra, but it was worth it.
Unpacked, installed and first studied. Heimkinowelt is very accommodating to me that they are really familiar with this product and always had an answer ready even during the calibration and any questions that arose. I think that's the crucial point with such a complex preliminary stage. The sound performance could be increased again with the Arcam preamp. If you understand how to set everything up and take the time to deal with the preamp, you get amazing quality for a moderate price.

Unfortunately, the money wasn't quite enough to get the StormAudio processor and I have to take the "small" intermediate step via the Arcam AV41. Maybe one day…
But I am absolutely satisfied with the Arcam preamp. Great support and price. Delivery in the stated time without any problems.
