Batteries are allowed not in the household waste are given. End-users are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return batteries after use to the seller or to the collection points provided for this purpose (e.g. in municipal collection points or in shops) free of charge. Batteries containing harmful substances and the fact that batteries do not have to be disposed of with household waste but must be disposed of properly are indicated by the garbage can symbol.

Pb = battery contains more than 0,004 mass percent lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0,002 mass percent cadmium
Hg = battery contains more than 0,0005 percent by mass of mercury
