The HDMI connectors*1 of the VSX-935 support 8K/60p (4:4:4/12-bit*2, 4:2:0/10-bit), 8K/30p (4:4:4/12- bit*2, 4:4:4/10-bit, 4:2:2/12-bit), 4K/120p (4:4:4/12-bit*2, 4:4:4/10-bit , 4:2:2/12-bit) video passthrough to compatible displays, as well as HDCP 2.3, so you'll have no trouble upgrading to new devices. HDMI 2.1 also supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to eliminate lag, stuttering and stuttering for a smooth gaming experience. Various improvements such as ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and QFT (Quick Frame Transport) help optimize latency and further limit lag to ensure you're always at the top of your game.

Dolby Atmos®/Dolby Surround upmixing

The VSX-935 is compatible with the 5.2.2 channel configuration of the latest cinema sound platform, Dolby Atmos®. You can reproduce the object-oriented sound in smooth, curved movements or the realistic three-dimensional movement through the top speakers. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed with Dolby Surround to enjoy 3D surround sound.

DTS:X®/DTS Neural:X upmixing

DTS:X is DTS' next-generation audio codec that leverages object-based audio to enable new immersive and interactive audio experiences. Since DTS:X can automatically adapt the audio to the existing channels and speaker system, no special speaker layout is required. Experience an immersive soundscape with incredibly rich and lifelike sound. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed with DTS Neural:X to enjoy 3D surround sound.

Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization

When playing any Dolby format, enabling the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer enables an even more immersive listening experience by creating a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts without the need for additional surround or height speakers.

DTS Virtual: X

DTS Virtual:X lets you enjoy three-dimensional, immersive sound similar to DTS:X without the need for height or rear speakers. The technology supports 2 to 7.1.4 channel input sources, for output on 2 to 5.1 or even 7.1 channel speaker layout. DTS Virtual:X works with all DTS codecs, including DTS:X.

Personal preset

Simply press the front panel Personal Preset button for three seconds and your current settings such as volume and listening mode can be saved. Up to three presets can be registered and easily recalled using the front panel button or remote control.

dialog extension

This unique midrange control feature allows you to make independent volume controls for the range including dialogue in movies using the up/down button on the remote control.

MCACC Automatic room tuning

Create the optimal acoustic environment with Pioneer's MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System), developed with the know-how of professional recording studios. With the custom microphone, the system automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level, and distance, equalizing the response.

Works with SONOS

By integrating the VSX-935 into the Sonos ecosystem with Connect or Port, you can play any music or audio source through your Sonos app. When Volume Pass Through mode is selected in the Sonos app settings, you can control the volume of the device through the Sonos app or yourself. Enjoy high-quality playback from the AV receiver via the Sonos app, just like your favorite Sonos system.

Powered Zone 2 with dedicated DAC

GWith the active function, the VSX-935 can directly drive speakers in another room without the need for a separate amplifier. In addition, with the dedicated DAC for Zone 2, you can listen to all digital audio sources.

Zone B output for wireless headphones

The VSX-935 is equipped with Zone B audio outputs, allowing you to expand the main zone sound by connecting your wireless headphone dock. You can receive the sound playing in the living room through wireless headphones.

High-quality audio transmission through Bluetooth® wireless technology

Stream songs from compatible devices with built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology (ver. 4.2). The VSX-935 features A2DP/AVRCP profiles and supports SBC/aptX/aptX HD codecs for the transmitter and SBC/AAC codecs for the receiver. So you can not only listen to music with the receiver via Bluetooth, but also listen to the main sound source of the receiver with a high-quality codec through compatible headphones. With the “Wake on Play” function, the AV receiver will automatically wake up and switch input when a Bluetooth source starts playing.

Voice control

The VSX-935 works with Ok Google, allowing you to control playback of various Chromecast-supported music services by asking a Google Assistant-enabled device to play, stop, skip, or turn up or down the volume. This receiver also works with Alexa, so you can also use voice commands to control music services supported by Alexa-integrated devices. Thanks to the two voice controls, you can easily operate and enjoy music services or internet radio with your voice without using a remote control or smartphone app.
