The miniDSP UMIK-1 is an omnidirectional USB measurement microphone for plug & play acoustic measurements. From speaker and room acoustics measurements to recording, this microphone delivers low-noise and accurate results you can count on. Forget driver installation, OS compatibility and uncalibrated microphones. The Umik-1 is a Class 1 USB audio device that is automatically recognized by all operating systems (Windows/Mac) and Ipad with Camera Connection Kit. It is provided with a unique calibration file based on the serial number to ensure accurate measurement. In combination with the acoustic measurement software we recommend, it is the perfect addition to a plug and play measurement system.

I was initially unsettled by a video from another retailer. He claimed that the supplied Onkyo plastic microphone made no big difference to these and that it was not needed. I play a lot and I've already used dozens of microphones and I was pretty unsure myself because there are big differences in the microphones and I couldn't imagine that the microphone would then make no difference when measuring.
I then asked DIRAC and also here at Heimkinowelten. Both gave me the answer I was already thinking, so I ordered the microphone here. What can I say? Completely different possibilities and also the measurement result sometimes differs greatly from the standard microphone. The measurement with the PC software is also more adaptable and you can really familiarize yourself with the subject. For me it is always amazing how another dealer can make such statements in a YouTube video. For me it shows that some people don't deal with the matter, but are only interested in selling the devices.
I mainly bought the microphone here because they are familiar with the whole topic and are also available with advice and action if I have any questions. I will buy technology here in the future too!
