High-quality digital-to-analog converter

For pure audio playback, the UDP800 uses a 4-layer PCB board, with each channel equipped with independent wiring. Two independent Burr-Brown PCM 1795 DAC processors are used for two-channel D/A decoding, processing the left and right channels respectively. And a high-quality MUSES8920 OP-AMP ensures audiophile sound quality. The UDP800 features balanced, gold-plated stereo XLR connectors and unbalanced, gold-plated stereo RCA outputs. Pure Audio Mode feature is available to offer audio lovers uncompromised sound quality.

For the UDP800MRZ, MAGNETAR engineers selected a custom-built, 60W, high-power, low-noise transformer with a two-stage filter design and Japanese Rubycon electrolytic capacitors to achieve the high transient response demanded by surround sound systems and high-resolution audio. A separate metal housing lowers the noise level and ensures stability and silence, which further improves the audio and video quality.

Elegant and solid quality in the case construction

In order to achieve exceptional audio and video performance, high-quality housing construction and stability are required. The UDP800 features a brushed aluminum front panel in a solid, high-strength metal chassis that greatly improves audio and video performance. The characteristic double-layer case structure with a thickness of 1,6mm and a 3mm-thick steel plate under the caseback reduces vibration and noise during playback. Key internal components, including the CD mechanism and power supply, are independently shielded to reduce external magnetic fields.
