It also supports USB hard drive up to 16TB, which can be accessed directly from your computer or NAS over your local area network using DLNA or SMB protocols to enhance your multimedia life.
High-quality digital-to-analog converter
For pure audio playback, the UDP800 uses a 4-layer PCB board, with each channel equipped with independent wiring. Two independent Burr-Brown PCM 1795 DAC processors are used for two-channel D/A decoding, processing the left and right channels respectively. And a high-quality MUSES8920 OP-AMP ensures audiophile sound quality. The UDP800 features balanced, gold-plated stereo XLR connectors and unbalanced, gold-plated stereo RCA outputs. Pure Audio Mode feature is available to offer audio lovers uncompromised sound quality.
high power transformer
For the UDP800, MAGNETAR engineers selected a custom-built, high-performance 60W low-noise transformer with a two-stage filter design and Japanese Rubycon electrolytic capacitors to achieve the high transient response required by surround sound systems and high-resolution audio. A separate metal housing lowers the noise level and ensures stability and silence, which further improves the audio and video quality.
Elegant and solid quality in the case construction
In order to achieve exceptional audio and video performance, high-quality housing construction and stability are required. The UDP800 features a brushed aluminum front panel in a solid, high-strength metal chassis that greatly improves audio and video performance. The characteristic double-layer case structure with a thickness of 1,6mm and a 3mm-thick steel plate under the caseback reduces vibration and noise during playback. Key internal components, including the CD mechanism and power supply, are independently shielded to reduce external magnetic fields. With such a high-quality design, the MAGNETAR UDP800 only weighs 8 kg! High-end home entertainment at its best.

I was able to test several players in various specialist shops in Bremen and around. The magnetar wasn't actually on my list, but then I found it on the internet. The opportunity to watch the player at Heimkinowelten near Bremen was awesome. The player was shown and explained to me in detail. I could also play my films. Still, I wasn't sure. The seller then offered to take the player over the weekend, they still had a demo sample and that wouldn't be a problem. I immediately used this service. Over the weekend it quickly became clear that I wanted to keep this brilliant player. So I called Heimkinowelten first thing in the morning. They offered me to buy the player via the online shop and would then simply exchange the demo sample for a new one.

You really have the feeling of having found a worthy successor. When listening, the first impression is confirmed quite quickly. The drive reads quickly and is a bit louder in the first few seconds, but then works very quietly. I had problems with one or the other film. I was quickly helped by email and referred to the latest firmware, since mine was still quite old. I then downloaded and installed it over the network connection. After that, I couldn't find an error on any disc. Everything runs very smoothly and without problems.

UHDs are played back brilliantly, but Blu-rays and DVDs also experience a visible upgrade. Sound reproduction is, as expected, excellent. The remote control requires some practice, as there are a lot of buttons that are too small and not all of them can be clearly recognized despite the fact that the lighting can be activated.
