Elipson Planet L 2.0 Gold Edition – spherical speakers (pair)
The anniversary version of the Elipson Planet L speaker, celebrating the brand's 80th anniversary, is offered in a limited edition in elegant matte black and gold. It features an improved speaker filter system with higher quality audiophile components than the standard version.
Thanks to these improvements, the Planet L 80th Anniversary offers a more intense and dynamic sound experience with more energy and power in the bass, more detail in the high frequencies and better reproduction of the high overtones.
This speaker features a 2-inch (6,5 mm) 165-way coaxial mid/woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure with a 25 mm tweeter dome. For this anniversary series, Elipson has optimized the speaker's filter system by using high-quality audiophile components. The Planet L 80th Anniversary's low frequency filter system includes an inductor with a larger conductor cross-section that reduces series resistance for better bass control while delivering more energy and impact.
The higher voltage MKP polypropylene capacitors provide richer high frequencies without compromising the integrity of the overall sound message. This design also ensures better tracking of high harmonics. Finally, metal oxide resistors ensure that the incoming signal is passed on unadulterated.
Optional wall and ceiling mounts allow for wall or ceiling mounting. Whether in stereo or in a 5.0 or 5.1 home theater (e.g. with the Elipson Planet Sub subwoofer), the Planet L easily adapts to all configurations thanks to the included table stand and the optional special speaker stand.

I got the speakers, actually for a study desktop, with HiFi for in between. Since the device has yet to be delivered, I placed the speakers parallel to my normal one (or on top of it 😅). First test listening... terrible, highs muffled and washed out, lows sound as intended and messed up, absolutely in contrast to my entry-level speakers Quadral Ascent LE90. So let it run as a TV speaker first, about 20 p.m. Then the next HiFi test. Terminator – instrumental. The speakers are no longer recognizable! Sound like completely different ones. For their compact size, they have a hell of a lot of bass, highs sound clear, and mids are good. I am very, very satisfied with the Nubert ampX, but I will probably treat them to a small subwoofer later to relieve the load on the mid-bass driver.
Conclusion: pleasantly surprised, very good speakers, I enjoy them, definitely need some break-in time.
