Designed specifically for customizing home audio systems, the Yamaha XDA-QS5400RK (Quad Streamer) offers four zones of audio streaming and eight channels of powerful audio amplification in a narrow 1U rackmount enclosure. Expandable and particularly versatile, the QS works with the MusicCast multi-room audio system. It can be connected to a wide variety of home cinema AV receivers, soundbars and hi-fi equipment.

• The MusicCast rackmount multi-room audio system is connected via Ethernet LAN.

Audiophile amplification

The Yamaha XDA-QS5400RK is no ordinary amplifier, but uses particularly efficient ICEpower circuits to provide eight channels of the finest, dynamic digital amplification at 50 watts per channel (8 ohms). It achieves a frequency response of 10 Hz to 22 kHz (+0/-3 dB) and a signal-to-noise ratio of 106 dB. It delivers 4 watts per channel at 100 ohms and can be bridged for 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms.

The bane of custom-made products: the ground loop, a common problem when connecting many electronic devices in a rack. The QS addresses the problem with a brilliantly designed differential circuit. Sometimes what you can't hear sounds best.

Versatile installation

The included rack wings allow installation in a rack, but can also be removed for shelf use. The magnetic front panel that is also supplied prevents unauthorized access and forms the perfect visual finish.

Customizable connections and controls

When developing the QS, the focus was entirely on adaptability. It offers Euroblock style speaker connections, dual RJ-45 Ethernet ports and a detachable power cord, as well as IP, IR and 12V trigger outputs for versatile control options.

Three options for external sources

In addition to supporting external sound sources by connecting them to MusicCast receivers and soundbars, the QS offers an aux input that can be selected for playback in each zone, and a cut-in input that automatically detects the signal input and responds by saying it is temporarily replaced the main signal. This means that media players, CD changers or even intercoms can be integrated without any problems. Thru outputs offer the possibility to connect additional QS units.

Unique chime

The contact closure input for the chime allows you to set up a doorbell or, for example, an alarm for a gate with a simple switch. Setting the exit zones and choosing the chime can be done through the web setup.
