Yamaha M-5000
The measure of all things in its class: The Yamaha M-5000 convinces with its outstanding sound and inspires with catchy musicality.
- 200W + 200W (4 ohms, 20Hz - 20kHz, 0,07% THD, 2ch powered)
- 100W + 100W (8 ohms, 20Hz - 20kHz, 0,07% THD, 2ch powered)
- Meticulously optimized balanced signal transmission
- Floating, symmetrical output stage for better amplification behavior
- Perfectly symmetrical design for optimal channel separation of left and right channel
- Electrical design with low impedance and short signal routing
- Solid case construction for maximum stability
- Large toroidal transformer
Perfectly symmetrical
In conjunction with the GT-5000 turntable and the C-5000 power amplifier, a completely symmetrical signal chain is created from start to finish for the best sound.
Trimmed for maximum performance
With its careful circuit design, the M-5000 offers perfect symmetry between the left and right channels through their complete physical and electrical decoupling. The deliberately simple circuit concept reduces the signal path to a necessary minimum, minimizes energy losses and achieves a low impedance for absolutely high-quality music reproduction.
Balanced output stage with MOSFETs
The complex power amplifier concept uses a direct connection between the power pack and the power amplifiers. The complete decoupling of the entire amplification circuit from ground eliminates unwanted influences from the smallest voltage fluctuations or ground disturbances. The concept also relies on a fully symmetrical design that uses MOSFET power amplifiers, improving the operation of loudspeakers even with low impedance.
unshakable
During the development of the M-5000, annoying vibrations were eliminated for perfect sound reproduction. In addition, a new grounding concept was developed in which the mains transformer, charging capacitors and heat sink are mounted directly on the rigid construction with bolts. In this way they are optimally fixed and the disturbing influence of vibrations is completely prevented.
power you can hear
A solid toroidal transformer with a 3 mm thick base plate made of pure brass, which suppresses unwanted vibrations, ensures perfect hi-fi sound. The high-quality toroidal transformer does not affect the audio circuitry. The directly executed copper wire of the winding core contributes to the low impedance and significantly reduces energy loss compared to conventional designs.
Hard on the wire
Solid cables and screw connections contribute to the low impedance of the M-5000. In this way, less energy is lost than with ordinary plugs and cable connections. Using screws and brass terminals directly on the charging capacitors instead of soldering provides a direct, low-impedance connection.
Stand on your own two feet
When developing the M-5000, every technical aspect that affects the sound was considered. The obsession to achieve the best possible sound has led to the development of the new, patented stands.
The heavy brass feet decouple the M-5000 either as pure spikes or with scratch protection for sensitive surfaces.
performance becomes visible
The M-5000 features large, high-precision front-panel meters for visualizing music dynamics.
Protected by 7 mm thick Asahi glass, the displays support the exceptionally elegant look of the M-5000.
Premium quality speaker terminals
The M-5000 uses extra large screw terminals for the speakers to ensure ease of use and a secure connection. The speaker terminals developed by Yamaha are milled from a block of brass and underline the high Yamaha quality standards. The 3 mm thick base plate of the connections is also made of pure brass and is therefore particularly resilient and stable. It is also non-magnetic, which reduces audio signal distortion.
