The innovative power amplifiers of the M23 combine - like the NAD amplifiers M2021 and C33, which came onto the market in 298 - NAD's proven hybrid digitalTMcircuitry using EigentaktTM technology from Danish digital amplifier pioneer Purifi. The result of this exclusive cooperation are amplifier stages that are absolutely noise and distortion-free with 2 x 380 watts of continuous power and a pulse power of 2 x 520 watts at 4 Ω. If even higher power reserves are required, the M23 can also be operated in a bridge circuit as a mono output stage and then delivers a four-digit pulse power.

HybridDigital™ Purifi Eigentakt™ Amplifier

Purifi is a Danish technology company where some of the leading developers in the hi-fi industry are pursuing the goal of identifying and eliminating the last remaining weaknesses in digital amplifier technology. The current status of their work resulted in the Purifi Eigentakt™ amplifier, which NAD is the first company to produce under license and has so far been used exclusively in the BluOS streaming integrated amplifier M33 and the stereo power amplifier C298.

The Purifi Eigentakt™ technology is impressive in terms of measurement with extremely low intermodulation distortion, a particularly low distortion factor of just 0,0007% over the entire frequency response and the entire power bandwidth, and minimal inherent noise.

The realization that a memory effect occurs in the components in the output filter of the amplifier was groundbreaking for the development of Eigentakt™ technology. This phenomenon, called hysteresis, can lead to audible losses in sound with conventional digital amplifiers. By modifying the output stage and using the clever algorithms of the self-clocking technology, Purifi managed to significantly reduce the hysteresis effects.

Another advantage of the Eigentakt™ power amplifiers is that they are absolutely insensitive to changing speaker loads. Their extremely low output impedance also leads to a very high damping factor, which is reflected in absolutely clean and controlled bass reproduction.

digital technologies

With its efficient switched-mode power supplies and Class D output stages, which operate very linearly over a wide bandwidth and ensure consistent performance under all loudspeaker loads, the M23 clearly surpasses the quality of classic and power-hungry linear power supplies and inefficient Class A/B output stages. With its precise, detailed and dynamic sound, its astonishingly controlled playback and incomparable transparency, NAD's high-end power amplifier breaks the previously accepted limits of audiophile music reproduction.

Flexible application options

The NAD power amplifier is recommended as a powerful partner for any high-quality stereo preamplifier or other hi-fi components with a stereo preamplifier output with adjustable level, such as CD players or music streamers.

Owners of a NAD M33 streaming integrated amplifier also have the option of expanding their hi-fi system to a system with 2 x 700 watts of continuous power. Here the bridged M33 then takes over the amplification of one stereo channel and the M23 running in bridge circuit that of the other stereo channel.

Balanced signal transmission

In recording studios and in professional sound reinforcement technology, symmetrical signal transmission is part of good sound in the truest sense of the word. It transmits the audio signals not via a single but via two conductors, which means that possible interference is excluded, even over longer cable runs. In addition to gold-plated cinch sockets, the M23 also has balanced XLR inputs, which ensure interference-free signal feeding without noise or interference.

In addition, the M23 offers an input sensitivity that can be adjusted in three stages, a 12 V trigger input for automatic switching on and off via appropriately equipped control devices and automatic switching on when an audio input signal is present. A ground clip also prevents ground loops and hum in audio systems with multiple amplifiers.

High quality aluminum housing

The NAD M23 has a very elaborately designed and at the same time extremely elegant aluminum housing. Inside, sturdy panels with magnetic iso-point feet provide a solid foundation for the multi-layer circuit boards and intricate internal construction.

The interior design of the case is as complex as the exterior is simple. The solid front panel, the cover and the torsion-resistant, extremely stable chassis shine in the two-tone black and silver look typical of the NAD MASTERS series.

Really the best amplifiers I've ever had. I have an M28 for surround / 3D / center and an M23 for the front. It's fascinating how light and dynamic these power amplifiers drive my system.
