The manufacturer InVideo is expanding its popular Obsidian Vision screen series with another model called: Obsidian Vision Acoustik. Like the “normal” series (not acoustically transparent), the Obsidian Vision Acoustik is available in different versions: wall/ceiling screen (front or back case), frame screen (Framless, Slimline and Normal), recessed ceiling screen and multiformat. The Obsidian Vision Acoustic series is available as Edgefree or BlackMask with surrounding black frames. Thanks to the Edge Free Design used, this screen achieves a maximum image width without a black frame. This automatically masks the image for all formats used in films and series today. This model can be used very flexibly due to its wide range of variants and image sizes. With this new model you now have the opportunity to use the excellent properties of this high-quality canvas as a sound-permeable canvas. Especially in small living spaces or in general where it is difficult to place the speakers, you now have another clever solution, including the possibility of actually hearing the sound from the screen - like in a real cinema.

The very fine micro-perforation ensures enormous sound permeability. From around 1000 hertz the cloth has a low attenuation factor of 1-2 db. This slight attenuation, which every good acoustic screen has, can be compensated for by every AV receiver during calibration. If you have been looking for a screen that has both a high-contrast screen and acoustic sound permeability, you probably either couldn't find what you were looking for or had to look at extremely high-priced manufacturers. There are also very cheap products that promise exactly these product properties at a bargain price, but these usually do not have real contrast cloths, the perforation is very coarse and therefore visible from several meters, or the flatness becomes more than acceptable after a short time wish left.

Because all of these factors are extremely important for a high-quality and good acoustically transparent screen, as this is the only way to guarantee an outstanding home cinema experience. Despite the high transparency of the perforation, the holes are no longer visible from a normal sitting position. The fine holes are only visible on closer inspection.
