I bought the speakers as Atmos speakers. I previously had Saxx speakers for €120. The entire lower level is equipped with the Aurum 9, which is why I wanted to switch to Quadral on the ceiling.
The Signum Phase 1 arrived neatly packaged, after unpacking I noticed that the tweeter was not inserted straight. The first audition shocked me. How can Quadral want to sell such a speaker for an RRP of €500? It sounds muffled, there is no resolution and the voices turn into a grumbling, resonating muddle. I previously had the Argentum series, which sounded better. Even after several hours of extreme stress (playing in), the drone in the midrange didn't get any better. There was at least a little more freedom in the treble, but still below standard. In terms of sound, they are worse than the Saxx, but visually they are better (apart from the crooked tweeter). The riCom tweeter does not need to boast about any features. In practice it just sounds bad. I suspect the crossover is too inferior to exploit the full potential of the chassis. I didn't want to send it back because it would hurt the dealer.
