The NAD CI 8-150 DSP is NAD's flagship amplifier for professional custom install systems. The 8-channel power amplifier not only impresses with an extremely high output power, but has also been specifically developed for use in a rack in terms of stability and durability. The device, which is only nine centimeters (= two height units) high, has eight HybridDigital™ nCore power amplifiers, each of which mobilizes a continuous output power of 150 watts or, in a bridge circuit, 4 x 300 watts (each at 8 Ω).

NAD CI 8-150 DSP
The NAD CI 8-150 DSP is NAD's flagship amplifier for professional custom install systems. The 8-channel power amplifier not only impresses with an extremely high output power, but has also been specifically developed for use in a rack in terms of stability and durability. The device, which is only nine centimeters (= two height units) high, has eight HybridDigital™ nCore power amplifiers, each of which mobilizes a continuous output power of 150 watts or, in a bridge circuit, 4 x 300 watts (each at 8 Ω).

Flexible application options
The NAD CI 8-150 DSP offers extremely flexible application options. The amplifier is controlled over the network and can be configured and calibrated by the installer via a web-based user interface. The user interface provides access to multi-channel digital signal processing (DSP), insight into temperature and power status, and basic troubleshooting functions such as power cycling, factory resets, and updates.
In addition, the power amplifier makes it possible to control the individual amplifier channels separately with an input signal or to supply all channels with the same audio signal via the "Global" inputs (and to loop this through to another power amplifier if necessary). In this way, more extensive installations in the catering trade, in conference rooms or in the home cinema can also be controlled in a tailor-made manner. Long cable runs and difficult loudspeaker loads do not cause any problems for the NAD power plant.
Efficient Class D amplifiers with enormous power
Instead of old-fashioned linear power supplies and class AB amplifiers, which convert almost half of the required energy into heat instead of power, NAD only uses switched-mode power supplies and class D output stages for its current amplifiers. This design is very linear over a wide bandwidth and provides consistent performance to all speaker loads, representing a dramatic advance over previous techniques. The CI 8-150 DSP mobilizes a continuous output of 8 x 180 watts and up to 8 x 280 watts of pulse power (each at 4 Ω). In a bridge circuit, the NAD even delivers a pulse power of 670 (all channels driven) or 800 watts (two channels driven).
