AudioControl Director® Model M4800 8-Channel Network DSP Matrix Amplifier

The Director® M4800 Audio-Matrix amplifier from AudioControl is unique of its kind and is the most intelligent and at the same time most flexible AudioControl amplifier available for private or commercial projects. It complements the successful Director series: Here we find eight channels in just one U, each with 100 watts into 8 ohms, 200 watts into 4 ohms or even 400 watts in bridged mode. The performance specification is measured seriously, all channels are in operation at the same time.

With its built-in digital sound processor (DSP), it can be used independently or integrated into the smart home controls from well-known providers such as Crestron, Savant, RTI or Control4. The M4800 is available in silver or black. It is developed and manufactured in the university city of Seattle.
The M4800 offers built-in signal processing, graphic and parametric equalizers per zone, monitoring and adjustment via a network browser, digital and analogue inputs plus volume control.

Due to its diverse properties, the M4800 is recommended for private and commercial installations with musical requirements. The "light drive" anti-clipping program and the switchable subsonic filter protect the connected loudspeakers from overload.

The Director M4800 was named Prestigious Audio Product of the Year at CES 2017.

Power and control at your fingertips

The Director® M-Series features onboard digital signal processing, zoned graphic and parametric equalization, network monitoring and programming, local and bus inputs, as well as volume control, channel/zone grouping, and zone audio presets. They also allow individual channel and zone selection via standard TCP/IP and offer incredible performance and legendary AudioControl audio performance.

Two digital inputs and outputs are accessible in matrixing, so that each of the input sources can be routed via the digital outputs. These digital outputs can be connected to other CM Series, Director M or D Series or Architect digital inputs, allowing multiple amplifiers to receive any signal from any of the inputs.

Profiles for speaker optimization

AudioControl has partnered with a growing number of well-known architectural loudspeaker manufacturers to implement loudspeaker performance profiles that can be recalled directly from the Director® M-Series' onboard DSP. Each loudspeaker manufacturer has provided AudioControl with key performance data so that bespoke profiles can be created and stored in the software. Taking into account the individual room acoustics of each home, these speaker profiles represent an important step in providing the customer with a premium entertainment experience by calibrating the systems for their customers.
