Lifestyle projector The Freestyle

Entertainment that keeps up with the people: Today at CES 2022, Samsung Electronics unveiled The Freestyle, its new wearable projector and entertainment device. The Freestyle offers significant technology features that enable users to enjoy their video and audio content wherever they want to be entertained.

The Freestyle is a device made for the flexible lifestyle that Generation Z and Millennials in particular live. It is a projector, practical speaker and ambient lightning device all in one, all in one lightweight, portable device. The Freestyle weighs only 830 grams and can easily transform almost any room into a projection screen. In contrast to many common box-shaped projectors, the base of the Freestyle can be rotated by up to 180 degrees. This enables video projection in great image quality from various positions - whether table or floor, on walls or even on the ceiling - without the mandatory need for a white, smooth surface or screen.

“TheFreestyle is a new, very versatile and flexible projector that can adapt to the changing lifestyles of its users. It is a versatile device with a high fun factor that can be used almost anywhere it is needed.”

says Leif-Erik Lindner, Vice President Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics GmbH

The Freestyle has Auto Keystone and Auto Leveling features that automatically adjust the image to the surface and projection environment so that a proportional image is seen. In addition, the autofocus function enables great reproduction on different surfaces and in almost any situation up to a size of 100 inches. The Freestyle also convinces with its sound. It is equipped with a double passive radiator that can produce clean and deep bass without distortion. Its 360-degree sound dispersion offers a home theater-quality sound experience.

In terms of power delivery, The Freestyle is compatible with external power banks that support USB-C and an output power of 60W/20V or more. This allows users to take the device with them practically anywhere. Of course, the Freestyle can also be connected to any conventional socket with the appropriate power supply unit.

When not being used as a projector to stream content, The Freestyle also offers atmospheric lighting effects thanks to its ambient mode and translucent lens cap. It's also a smart speaker that can analyze music to create synchronous visual effects that can be projected, in particular, onto the wall or the floor.

The Freestyle also offers the well-known Smart TV features that are also available on Samsung Smart TVs. This includes built-in streaming services, as well as mirroring and casting capabilities, compatible with both Android and iOS mobile devices. It also features Farfield (far-field) voice control, allowing users to select their preferred voice assistant when using the device hands-free. The Freestyle can be calibrated using a smartphone app and paired with multiple devices via Bluetooth. So the joint video evening with friends can come.

The Freestyle was presented at CES 2022 from January 5th to 7th and has been available in Germany since March.
