Invisible speakers

Visible loudspeakers are not desired or even possible everywhere. Nowadays there are some clever, good and also affordable solutions to enjoy ideal sound without noticing the speakers. In this report, we want to introduce you to the various invisible speakers. You can also experience many of these solutions for yourself in our specialist shop. The classic

The classic is the conventional ceiling and wall installation loudspeaker. These are equipped with a round, square or rectangular grille. Whether it's a suspended plasterboard ceiling, formworked in-situ concrete or a filigree ceiling made in the factory; we offer the right built-in loudspeakers for cinema, music or speech. These types of speakers are not really completely invisible. At least you can still see the grid here. The possibility of painting the grille to match the wall and ceiling color makes it possible to make the loudspeaker at least fairly invisible or not recognizable at first glance.

Invisible speakers
Ceiling spots and built-in speakers are both square and the same size. The advantage is that the speakers are only noticeable at second glance. Not a completely invisible speaker, but almost.

The classic reinvented

James Loudspeaker has always strived to push the boundaries when it comes to better solutions through innovation. And nothing reflects that commitment like the Small Aperture® (SA) Series. These ultra-high-performance, barely-there architectural speakers are designed to redefine the concept of a decor-matched entertainment system. Unlike anything you've ever seen or heard, the SA Series reproduces sound with the refinement of a more expensive studio monitor.

The development of Small Aperture is the result of many hours in the lab and an unrelenting passion for the art of sound reproduction. Each model in the SA Series can be either ceiling or wall mounted, leaving only a relatively tiny opening to the listener. To narrow this opening, James Loudspeaker offers a wide range of standard and custom finishes for the flat grille, which is available in 3" or 4" round or square flush mount options. (Now also available with 3-inch Microperf grille.) Inside each of the SA speakers is a powerful yet compact subwoofer coupled with a mid-high frequency module. The result: stunning sound quality with detailed bass that reaches down to 38 Hz and a dispersion that covers a large area. We recommend every music lover to give the James Loudspeaker Small Aperture Series a listen.

The advantage of James Loudspeaker's Small Aperture series is the enormous sound quality paired with the minimal outlet in the ceiling. A grid is also used, which can be flexibly adapted to the ceiling or wall. The disadvantage is that you have to have a corresponding installation depth with this series.

Invisible speakers

It then becomes completely invisible with a flush-mounted loudspeaker. This is simply inserted into the wall and/or ceiling and then plastered over, wallpapered and/or painted in the color of your choice. The result is not visible, but audible! :) In our specialist shop we have two such solutions from different manufacturers ready for demonstration. But not only the normal speaker disappears so invisible, but also the subwoofer if desired. The whole thing is not only suitable as a music and multi-room speaker, but also as a home cinema solution.

Invisible speakers
Our conference room in our specialist shop. Here a 5.1 system was integrated completely invisibly. A loudspeaker is installed next to the television and an invisible center loudspeaker is located below the television.

In our living room cinema, two invisible loudspeakers were integrated on the left and right. In addition, a completely invisible subwoofer on the left below the screen. Audible in our living room as a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos system.

Made-to-measure soundbar – an almost invisible loudspeaker

When it comes to TV solutions, a soundbar is an interesting way for many to improve the sound significantly. In addition to the standard soundbars, there are also individual solutions here that make it possible to make the loudspeaker appear almost invisible. James Loudspeakers, for example, offers a soundbar tailored to the width of the screen. With the appropriate bracket available, the soundbar can be seamlessly attached to the television. The advantage is that you can choose between an active or passive soundbar. This leaves the option of working with an external A/V receiver and realizing a real home cinema setup.

5 steps to your dream SoundBar

  • Step 1: Determine the TV model and size
  • Step 2: Decide between different soundbar performance levels. From normal speech enhancement to the high-end soundbar model, James Loudspeaker has everything.
  • Step 3: Choose the configuration of the soundbar (Center Only, Stereo, LCR, 2.1 Stereo + Sub or Fully Active)
  • Step 4: Choose the right color
  • Step 5: Select the appropriate bracket for the TV model

Also an alternative. A soundbar does not always have to be placed below the television.

A common solution is the soundbar solution to the right and left of the television. This speaker system is also available as a so-called Centergy solution. A center is also integrated in the right and left speaker. These both receive the same center signal. Ideal for anyone who doesn't have room for a center speaker. We present this solution to you in our living room cinema as a custom-made loudspeaker to the left and right of the screen. Almost invisible with us, thanks to the color matching of the grid to the color of the wall.

The whole thing shows only a small insight into what there is for individual solutions. The loudspeaker does not always have to be placed in a visible position in the room. There are now some highly specialized sound specialists who present great solutions with their loudspeakers (whether partially or completely invisible), so that you no longer have to make compromises. Feel free to take advantage of the opportunity at any time to get advice from one of our experts or to experience this type of loudspeaker live in our specialist shop.
