The Sky Original This England, about the early days of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, can be seen on Sky from 6 October. The six-part miniseries is available as a complete season on Sky Q and on the WOW streaming service. The broadcast on Sky Atlantic will also start on October 6th, every Thursday from around 22.00 p.m. in double episodes. "This England" is offered in the original English version, optionally with German or English subtitles.

London, late July 2019: Amid the Brexit negotiations, Boris Johnson succeeds British Prime Minister Theresa May at Number 10 Downing Street. With his usual tousled hair, Prime Minister Boris Johnson (Kenneth Branagh) steps in front of the cameras and promises prosperity and opportunity in the face of his country's impending exit from the EU. Only a few months later, the protestations of the controversial politician seem to have become obsolete, because the next crisis is imminent. The first wave of the corona virus is sweeping the country and Johnson's skills as a crisis manager are in demand.

The Sky Original political drama series follows the tumultuous tenure of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, portrayed by Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh, as he traces the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the UK. Director and head author Michael Winterbottom (“The Road to Guantanamo”) cleverly interweaves the events at 10 Downing Street with stories from all over Great Britain: British experts and scientists who are racing against time to try to decode the virus. Doctors and nurses working tirelessly on the front lines to help COVID-19 patients and people whose whole lives are suddenly being turned upside down.

The screenplays were developed by Michael Winterbottom and Kieron Quirke. Winterbottom also directed all episodes and is executive producing with Revolution Films' Richard Brown and Melissa Parmenter.
