In May 2006, Charlotte Böhringer, owner of the Isarparkhaus centrally located in downtown Munich, was found dead in her penthouse apartment above the parking garage. Böhringer, a multiple millionaire and well-known member of Munich society, was brutally murdered with 24 blows to the head. The case is causing a stir in the city and across the country. Her nephew and heir Benedikt Toth quickly comes under suspicion. In a unique circumstantial trial in 2008, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with particularly serious guilt, and at the same time his share of the inheritance was declared forfeit.

But the verdict was controversial from the start. It is based solely on a chain of evidence. The murder weapon is not found, there are no witnesses, evidence or even a confession.
