Monitor Audio CLG-W12

The Monitor Audio CLG-W12 is a passive subwoofer. Optimized for invisible installation below the surface, Monitor Audio's proprietary bandpass construction includes an internally driven 12-inch C-CAM driver housed in a waterproof, rotomolded polymer housing below the garden surface - just the CLG's dome-shaped output port -W12 is visible.

From this small "chimney" powerful bass frequencies combine with the clean mids and highs of the surrounding CLG140/CLG160 satellites to create a crisp, clear garden sound with a full frequency response. The CLG-W12 can be driven by a single amplifier channel at 4 ohms, with its 70/100V mains option recommended for cable lengths over 10m and adding subwoofers. In this configuration, the CLG140 satellites are daisy-chained to the CLG-W12, one at a time, up to the recommended maximum of twelve per subwoofer. Additional amplifier channels, subwoofers and satellites can be added to extend the system to larger garden areas.

In the simplest configurations, the satellites are connected in a mono configuration to one amplifier channel, the other amplifier channel drives the subwoofer. Using a stereo power amplifier with 70/100 V mains connection and crossover, the levels between the bass and mid/treble ranges can be adjusted. If desired, the system can also be configured for stereo operation by adding elements for creating left and right ranges.

Once installed, the Climate Garden System provides a balanced, wide open and controlled frequency response from 30Hz to 30kHz in the targeted environment - better than many home audio systems! For operation on a porch or patio, the CLG-W12 is installed in a planter box to add deep bass frequencies to the weatherproof enclosure of Monitor Audio's CL Series. This gives installers additional options for customer-specific use.
