DALI PHANTOM H-60

The PHANTOM H-60 ​​has a 165 mm bass-midrange driver and only requires a 26×26 cm installation opening in the ceiling or wall. The 28 mm dome tweeter radiates all frequencies above 1.900 Hertz.

DALI's PHANTOM H series includes four in-wall loudspeakers based on traditional driver technologies. With their reddish shimmering membranes made of cellulose and wood fibers, the bass-midrange drivers are immediately recognizable as DALI drivers. This lightweight, material mix gives the cone a particularly stable, uneven structure that makes it possible to perfectly reproduce even the finest musical details. A powerful, low-loss magnet system ensures precise and impulsive bass reproduction, while an extremely light fabric dome reproduces high frequencies with excellent resolution. In interaction, a very balanced, detailed and natural sound is created. Since the speakers of the PHANTOM H series transmit the entire frequency spectrum, no additional subwoofer is required.

CONSTRUCTION & INSTALLATION

DALI's PHANTOM H-60 not only combines compact dimensions with top acoustic performance, it also transfers the advantages of a traditional cabinet loudspeaker to wall and ceiling installations. The drivers of the two-way system are fixed in a stable baffle made of solid MDF to save space. As a result, the chassis find solid working conditions free from disturbing vibrations. In addition, the robust construction ensures optimal integration into the wall or ceiling.

The PHANTOM H-60 can be mounted in just a few simple steps: The completely redesigned baffle becomes thicker towards the outer edges, which means that it sits tighter and more securely in the mounting surface. This construction also contributes to better stability of the entire speaker. The PHANTOM H-60 is held in place by pivoting brackets that can be locked in place with a screwdriver from the baffle and can be used on a mounting surface up to 70mm thick.

CROSSOVER

The crossover was specially designed for the PHANTOM H-60 and consists entirely of selected components that meet the highest audiophile requirements.

All PHANTOM H series models have a protection circuit. This protects the chassis from possible overloading when the loudspeakers play at a very high volume for a long period of time. Since built-in loudspeakers are often installed in such a way that they are not only supposed to fill the room in which they are installed, the PHANTOM H-60 is also well secured in this way if e.g. B. the listener in the next room turns up the volume very high for a short time and the loudspeakers would be damaged without the Schultz circuit. The protection circuit responds like a fuse if too high a current flows.

The cabling of the loudspeaker chassis is laid out and fastened in such a way that all connections are secure and no disturbing noises can arise. And since the connection terminals are placed directly on the crossover circuit board, the signal path is also kept as short as possible. Spring clips ensure a secure and permanent connection to the speaker cable.

TWEETER

The fabric tweeter of the H-60 makes a major contribution to the typical, silky smooth and high-resolution DALI sound. The magnet system, driven by a ferrite magnet, is exceptionally resilient and quickly and reliably dissipates the heat generated by the voice coil. In conjunction with the extremely light 28 mm fabric membrane, the tweeter is able to reproduce high tones up to the 25.000 Hertz limit extremely precisely and with impressive detail.

The optimal placement of the tweeter in the baffle was chosen after numerous measurements and listening comparisons. Mounted directly next to the mid-bass driver, the beam angle of the dome was particularly wide and the discolouration was the lowest - in addition, the two drivers in this constellation could be optimally matched to each other.

LOW-MIDDLE RANGE

A real hi-fi loudspeaker should produce a credible stereo panorama from the audio signals supplied by the amplifier, reproduce even the finest details and emit the entire frequency spectrum with as little discoloration as possible. The elaborately designed DALI bass-midrange driver of the PHANTOM H-60 fulfills these and many other requirements with flying colors: Its extremely rigid and at the same time light 165 mm membrane made of the paper-wood fiber mixture typical of DALI lays the foundation for the excellent resolution in the mid-range and the precise and far-reaching bass.

The reddish shimmering membrane is surrounded by a particularly flexible and low-loss vibrating rubber surround, with both the surround and the spider fixing the inner part of the membrane being designed for the largest possible stroke. In addition, a powerful magnetic drive ensures excellent transient and decay behavior, so that the membrane can even follow fast impulses in the audio signal synchronously. A powerful double magnet ensures a high magnetic flux density, a large voice coil for a very high load capacity.
