Description

AudioControl Director® Model M6400 16-Channel Network DSP Matrix Amplifier

The Director® M6400 audio matrix amplifier from AudioControl is unique of its kind and is the most intelligent and at the same time most flexible AudioControl amplifier available for private or commercial projects. The Director M6400, part of the new AudioControl Matrix series, builds on the success of the Director D series with 16 channels in a compact body. It delivers 65 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms and a whopping 175 watts into 8 ohms in bridged mode, all channels always operated simultaneously.

The M6400 includes a digital signal processor with graphic and parametric equalizer per sound reinforcement zone. These functions, including volume control, channel grouping and presettings for each PA zone separately, can be operated at any time over the network via TCP/IP.
In the Director M6400, the matrix function allows each of the eight analogue and two digital input signals to be routed to each loudspeaker output. The M6400 includes two digital S/PDIF inputs plus two S/PDIF outputs within the matrix function so that all input signals can go to digital outputs in order to connect additional amplifiers. Director M6400 can be used as a standalone device or integrated into a media control such as Crestron, Savant or Control 4.

What can you do when it's buzzing? Ground lift switch: Many devices have a ground lift switch. This is used to be able to separate the ground loops in the case of multiple grounding. But: sometimes the suppression of disturbances via the protective conductor is worsened by the disconnection. So try again in each installation.

DSP/EQ amplifier. The digital tone control integrated in the amplifier allows for the best results in the interplay between the loudspeaker model, the installation location and the room acoustics. The respective application is measured by the installing specialist dealer on site.

The M6400 is available with a brushed stainless steel front or with a black front panel.

Modern digital technology reduces electricity costs and space requirements in the rack.
Low waste heat reduces the temperature in the technical cabinet and thus increases the service life of the installed devices.

Power and control at your fingertips

The Director® M-Series features onboard digital signal processing, zoned graphic and parametric equalization, network monitoring and programming, local and bus inputs, as well as volume control, channel/zone grouping, and zone audio presets. They also allow individual channel and zone selection via standard TCP/IP and offer incredible performance and legendary AudioControl audio performance.

Two digital inputs and outputs are accessible in matrixing, so that each of the input sources can be routed via the digital outputs. These digital outputs can be connected to other CM Series, Director M or D Series or Architect digital inputs, allowing multiple amplifiers to receive any signal from any of the inputs.

Profiles for speaker optimization

AudioControl has partnered with a growing number of well-known architectural loudspeaker manufacturers to implement loudspeaker performance profiles that can be recalled directly from the Director® M-Series' onboard DSP. Each loudspeaker manufacturer has provided AudioControl with key performance data so that bespoke profiles can be created and stored in the software. Taking into account the individual room acoustics of each home, these speaker profiles represent an important step in providing the customer with a premium entertainment experience by calibrating the systems for their customers.
