First trailer of the Sky Original "Munich Games"

Sky released the first trailer for "Munich Games“. The six-part drama-thriller series, in a double installment with episodes one and two, will be available on Sky One from 4 September. After that, Sky One will broadcast one episode each Sunday. The first two episodes will be available on Sky Q on demand and the streaming service from 2 p.m. on September 15nd WOW. "Munich Games" is offered in a purely German version as well as in the original version with optional German subtitles for the foreign-language passages.

The fast-paced and gripping political thriller series comes from the author of the international TV hit "Fauda" - Michal Aviram - and tells the story of two agents: inside, an Israeli and a German with Lebanese roots, who have to work together to stop a threatening prevent terrorist attack.

Munich 2022: A football friendly between an Israeli team and a German team is planned as a sign of peace and in memory of the victims of the 1972 terrorist attack. Police and secret services on all sides are on high alert to ensure the security of the event.
But when Oren Simon, a Berlin-based Mossad agent, intercepts a message on a dark web forum just days before the game, he is paired with Maria Köhler, a German LKA officer with Lebanese roots, to make sure that history does not repeat itself.

The six-part series, which explores themes such as geopolitics, information manipulation and the growing threat of extremism around the world, brings cinematic dimensions to screens as part of Sky's growing lineup of compelling and groundbreaking dramas.

Bringing together a brilliant multi-national creative team in front of and behind the camera, Munich Games was shot in German, Hebrew, Arabic and English. The series was created by Michal Aviram ("Fauda"), who wrote the six screenplays together with Martin Behnke ("Berlin Alexanderplatz"). Director Philipp Kadelbach (“Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo”, “Perfume”, “Our Mothers Our Fathers”) staged a highly emotional drama in intensely captivating images, which takes place 50 years after the brutal terrorist attack at the 72 Olympic Games in Munich . The Sky Original is a co-production between Amusement Park Film, CBS Studios and Sky Studios.

The series is produced by Amelie von Kienlin, Daniel Brühl, Malte Grunert from Amusement Park Film and Meghan Lyvers from CBS Studios act as Executive Producers; also Michal Aviram and Philipp Kadelbach as well as Frank Jastfelder and Julia Jaensch from Sky Studios. Martin Behnke is co-executive producer.

"Munich Games" is funded by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF), the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF) and the Czech Film Fund. "Munich Games" will be broadcast in all Sky markets in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, UK and Ireland.
Paramount Global Content Distribution holds the international distribution rights for the series outside of the Sky markets.
